David Thompson's journey took him on a voyage of the Columbia River. Visit Colville Country, Kettle Falls, the Priest Rapids, and more.
 
 
Chapter 4: Kootenae House to Colville Country
Explorer David Thompson arrives in America from England. He is taught astronomy and completes his apprenticeship. Thompson begins his journey to the Pacific Ocean to find a practical route for the trade of prime pelts.

Chapter 5: Kettle Falls to the Wenatchee River
Thompson continues his journey down the Columbia River. He encounters many Indian tribes and learns hunting and fishing techniques from each tribe he encounters. The Methow tribe shows Thompson the ceremony of the salmon.

Chapter 6: Priest Rapids to the Pacific
Now in the lower Columbia River region, Thompson completes his journey to the Pacific Ocean. He writes in his journal, "Thus I have fully completed the survey of this part of North America from sea to sea."
